The stories behind the sewing

Chronicles of a Sewist is a studio journal documenting garments I make from concept to completion, through photographs, notes, and reflections.

A woman walking on a runway models a red dress with spaghetti straps and lace accents, while an audience watches and takes photos.

There’s something truly magical about sewing and design, from sketching ideas and choosing fabrics to creating clothes that tell a story on stage. The way a simple piece of fabric can be transformed into something full of character and beauty.

Driven to grow as a designer and artist, I stepped back into the classroom to refine my skills and challenge myself creatively. Through experimenting with new techniques, diverse fabrics, and patternmaking, I completely changed the way I approach design.

Since then, sewing has carried me through a rich and rewarding journey as a patternmaker, cutter/draper, and costume designer. Every challenge, each careful adjustment, and every finished garment has quietly reminded me why I do this work.

About My Blog

This blog offers a behind-the-scenes look at my sewing and design process, from sketch to final stitch. I document my costume-making process, sharing the craftsmanship, techniques, and finished designs behind each project. Every garment is created with movement, durability, and storytelling in mind.

Welcome to my sewing journal, where every piece begins with a story. 🪡
